This sequel to the ps1 hit silent hill, puts you into the shoes of James Sunderland, and a desperate search for his late wife Mary. He gets a letter signed by her a few years after her death. It said that she was at their "special place" in Silent Hill. And that's how the search for Mary begins. At the beginning of the game you start out with no weapons, but soon find an array of them including: a board with nails, a handgun, shotgun, rifle, and even a chainsaw(that you can only get if you beat the game once or twice). As most you probably know, this game combines realistic, sudden sound effects, that freaky static on your radio, and that never know what's coming next feeling to make the game a terrifying experience. (All the deformed monsters dont help much either)I'd definitely say that this is the scariest game out there for ps2.
The controls are good for the most part, but running around in fog can sometimes get a little tiring. The camera angles change suddenly which makes it a little tricky using the analog stick. I would suggest using the d-pad;it makes it a little easier,i think. The game takes you to various places like an apartment building to a prison. You go anyplace that gives you a lead to your desperate search for Mary. Even following around a little bratty girl that locks you in a hospital room. The only reason you go to the hospital is because you follow Laura, the little girl there. My point is that you are very desperate on your search and you even follow little girl that used to know your wife.
